Purpose, Meaning, and Beyond
I began this blog as a way to help myself and my coaching clients create purposeful careers and purposeful lives.
I began it as a part of a search for the answer to the central question of my life at the time: How do we create lives of meaning and purpose, in which we express our true, unique gifts in ways that are meaningful to us?
It was a central question for me, because I had come to believe that the only way to create a meaningful life was through connecting to our authentic selves and expressing it in all aspects of our lives - including, and especially, at work, because it is at work that the vast majority of us spend most of our lives.
Here's what I wrote at the time:
"Today we all face a choice:
We can go for the prepackaged lifestyle that we are being sold on a daily basis,
Or we can create an authentic vision of what we'd like our lives to look like and boldly follow that vision.
Which choice will you make? What footprints will you choose to leave in the sand? What impact will you make with your life? Will you choose to be a visionary in your own life or will you resign yourself to following the path you were told you were supposed to follow?"
This blog is still very much about that. I'm still very much engaged, as a career path coach, in helping others identify their true gifts, purpose and passion so as to help them build inspired lives. .
At the same time, as I myself came closer and closer to building this kind of life, the blog has evolved. It now reflects the themes that are near and dear to my heart: energy medicine, holistic health and wellness, and the many ways in which we can use these approaches to support our overall well-being.
In many ways, Project Creative Vision traces the evolution of my own life toward more meaning, purpose, and fulfillement. And in that, I hope, it can serve as an inspiration to those who are still on that path.
What is clear to me now, several years after I first started on the journey, is that the journey never ends. And if you allow it unfold, it can lead to unexpected places that will bring you joy and fulfillment.
